Naming

Shortlist and feel-brief for the game’s working title.

Meta

Brief

Feel target from the naming round: warm / toylike, a little winking, modern — one word or a short phrase with good mouthfeel (short, easy to say out loud). Not dry or acronym-technical.

Working Title

Civica is the current working title. It is not yet registered with the USPTO, but is safe for development, marketing materials, and internal use as a working title.

Trademark status: USPTO searches show existing registrations for "Civica" in Class 9 (software), but in different domains — accounting/municipal software tools, not games. Games and accounting tools are different use cases within the same software class, so the likelihood of consumer confusion is low.

A trademark holder could theoretically challenge the name if they argue likelihood of confusion.

Before committing Civica for public branding, marketing, or App Store launch, engage a trademark attorney for a proper clearance search and opinion. They will assess the specific scope of existing registrations and the real risk of interference. Expect $300–800 for a thorough clearance opinion.

Next Steps

  1. Trademark clearance opinion. Before any public launch, App Store submission, or major branding investment, engage a trademark attorney to run a formal clearance search on "Civica" and provide a written opinion on the risk of interference. Budget $300–800.
  2. Domain availability. Check civica.com, civica.app, and any other relevant TLDs once the name is legally cleared.
  3. Consider alternatives. If the clearance opinion flags significant risk, the shortlist includes several strong alternatives (Policity, Electopolis, Ludica, Civvitas) that have not been vetted yet.
